Touring with a FS bike?

Hello all. I'm interested in purchasing a E-MTB for a cross country tour.(Canada)I'm also a down hill enthusiast so I'm toying with the idea of building a hybrid between a FS bike and touring bike. ie. Changing tires,handle bar set up etc. I'm also new to E-bikes so any advice out there would be appreciated.
