Hello, I would want to purchase a Specialized Tero 4.0 EQ version, and I want the front fender not to be as close to the ground are there screws to shorten it ? Or are there other solutions ?
Most likely you will need to cut it but if you make it too short it will not keep your feet from spray. You could also shorten it and add a rubber or flexible "mudflap". I usually like my fenders as long as practical but I have bent a fender riding off a curb.
On my 2022 Vado 4.0 the long rubber flap on the front fender can be removed with tools, it’s attached with screws and nuts. Flap on rear fender is riveted.
On the tero EQ the front fender have 2 little screws to allow you to remove the bottom of the fender who is in plastic while the other part is alluminium
So u can just unscrew the bottom and dontuse it (only front one)
This is the $300 fender/rack/light add-on kit from Specialized on a Tero 3.0. Not sure on the others, but on this one they make it easy. I’ll leave mine on and just let it get beat up to whatever extent it does, because its just a mud flap and probably a fairly effective one. But I agree it does seem weirdly long, and you could easily cut it to the desired length, or simply remove the screws from the aluminum part of the fender and take it off all together. The plastic portion is the bottom 9.5” of the fender. So lots to work with and it has specialized part number so you could always order a replacement.
To answer your other question, yes you can remove the entire fender and still run the light because the light is mounted to the fender support, not the fender (last pic).
