Specialized 2015 Turbo basic model

My 2015 Turbo just started having problems with power. In Eco Mode it seems more like NO MODE and Turbo mode is more like Eco. I have 2 of the bikes so I switched out the batteries and the battery worked fine in one model but not this one. Ideas?

Mileage on the bikes? Which display do you have? Is the 2015 Turbo the rear hub motor bike? Forgive the question, it's before we became Specialized dealers.

Mileage on the one with problems is about 3600. The display is attached. It's a rear hub. My dealer looked at it and called Specialized but the only techs around who know about that model are baffled.

Roger, sounds like something is up with the battery cradle maybe? Make sure they can take pics and have your serial number, that way they can start start whatever service process they need.

Not to be opportunistic, but now's a great time to upgrade to the mid drive family of bikes!
 
Did they check the Rosenburger connector in the frame? There are separate contacts for the display and motor in the connector. The display and lights will work but the connection to the motor may not be solid. Usually this is noticeable when you seat the battery and it's ok until you hit a few bumps. Make sure when you seat the battery to give the connector a chance to seat fully by holding it at a slight angle after inserting it and rocking/rotating it gently back and forth before locking it down. The connector in the frame is magnetic and in a rubber flexible mount so it can adjust to the battery. I had to replace my connector since I used to remove the battery to recharge at work. I assume they checked the connector between the hub as well. While it looks like you can use one hand to plug it in when removing/replacing the wheel it really needs to hands to seat correctly.
 
I bought my 1st midrive recently ,I don’t consider it an upgrade, it runs fine just feels like the power level is stuck on 2 while the rear hubs I have go up to 3, have to stop pedaling to shift gears, depends on the bike.

I like the new Creo's but they don't have enough power to get me up the hills. Wish they had a larger motor.

The Vado 5.0 is power all over the place. If you want to shed weight you can upgrade the wheels like we did on our shop bikes, one step further is to a carbon fork. Still a 40+lb e bike, but the 1.3 motor in the 5.0 has plenty of power for any hill.

I'm looking for a road bike with drop bars under 40 lbs. The Creo does all but I'd like a bit more power from its motor.

Ah, gotcha. Yep, it sure does. The only bike I can think of would be the new Yamaha Civante, you could shed some weight on that one too to get it close to the 40lb mark. Haven't gotten one of those on the shop yet.

Also since you have two of the same bike you can switch the rear wheels to see if it's something in the motor. Troubleshoot to see if it's the motor or if it is in the frame wiring.

Thanks, my dealer just said that today and I dropped it off. Problem is, if that's the defect, I'm not sure I can get a new motor or even want to spend the money (last i saw it was $800).

Dealer says it is the motor but there are no replacements available. Looks like my bike is now just replacement parts. Hope my other one lasts longer.
