Sparkbike 550km review. Not good.

Hi all

Another update to follow my 300km review. For the third time I am unable to ride my bike. I have a severe clicking and grinding from the bottom bracket (yes I tested and changed the pedals, seatpost, checked gears etc first to identify source). It seems more than a clean and grease issue rather now the bearings are imploding. The sound is hideous. Again I have ridden cheap mountain bikes for years. Covered in mud and grit. No issues at all.

Also both brakes again are not functioning properly. It’s not safe to ride with no pressure. Even after bleeds.

Sparkbikes have washed their hands of the issue after I emailed them. I get it it’s a cheaper bike but I deem 550kms (on road commuting only) and over $300 (from my own pocket) spent on repairs unacceptable. If you don’t hey got a bike to sell you...

I have booked velofix for May 29th and that’s another $130 bucks min. All my gas savings lost. Very frustrating.

I would suggest going with another company with dealer support or saving the 1000 extra and getting a better bike. Rize bikes buyers beware also. It’s all china bikes unloaded of a container, set up and sold on. That’s it nothing more. Again I do get it. It’s not Trek but still come on.

When bike does work it’s not too bad. Motor still going ok. Light broke after a few weeks. As I said I only ride it in level 8 and 9 as its weak lower. Battery is ok but as with all batteries drains much faster in cold. Even slightly cold.
