I had no idea that I'd enjoy the assist it provides.

Trek Verve+ 2

Did you buy a new topeak rack or the little accesory that lets you mount on existing rack?
Sorry, I didn't fully answer your first question :).....The rack came on the bike new and serves as the mount for the rear light and fender. The bag was purchased separately. The rack is MIK compatible but the bag just uses straps to attach.

I went whole hog after testing an Allant+7. It was love at first ride! I had tested one or two other Trek ebikes the year before but the +7 just ticked every box for me. I was shocked at how easily it shifted and climbed grassy hills at a city park and how perfectly it fit me.

Those are cool bikes! Having a prefect fit is really nice too. I probably should have researched all the options before buying but I'm not unhappy at all.

But....an Allant+ 7S or 8S may be in my future.

Speed demon, eh? I’d recommend the 7s only because it has a better rack and lights...IMO.

More power! Unfortunately, my dealer says neither will be available until next year...if I order now.

I did notice that the 7S had a better rack and the 8S had a bigger battery.... choices, choices.

We (spouse and I) each got Allant 8s in the past few weeks. Why this bike? Where we live is very hilly, we're getting up there in years, and we need all the torque we can get going up the steepest hills. If we start from our house, we can go in three directions, each of which has a steep climb back home. The extra battery life doesn't hurt either.

Result: The fun is back. We can do the hills on our returns no matter which way we go. My only gripe is that cobi.bike is poorly documented. It took me days to get it working right. It's native route planning is weak, and only useful for point to point - no loops. And more crazy is that it interfaces with one external route for route planning and uploading (Komoot), but a different one for downloading your ride stats at the end of a ride (Strava). The connectivity to these two apps is quirky too. Sometimes I need to stop then re-start connectivity.

But all in all, it's a great bike.

Never heard of Komoot. I'll have to check that out.

Hills - that's really where I'm enjoying my Verve. Glad to hear the 8S is working out for you.
