Ripcurrent howling brakes

I have 200 miles on my 4 mo. old Ripcurrent with the Tektro brakes. From day one the back brake has made a resonating noise in the down tube of the bike. Originally I thought it was at the brakes\caliper but now that I have ridden it a bit it's coming from the down tube. Has anyone heard of this issue and how to resolve it?

From your description it seems like you're describing a harmonic vibration. Difficult to be sure with limited information. You can try to clean the rotor and pads, lightly sand the pads, or replace the pads and properly bed-in the brakes. Dirty or contaminated brake pads can cause these problems. Personally I prefer organic compound pads over semi metallic for their quiet operation. They don't last as long as semi metallic though. Pads are cheap

Thanks J.R , it is a harmonic vibration that resonates through the down tube. I will give your suggestions a try.
