Riding in the rain?

The RadWagon user manual was pretty clear that the components should not get wet. Has anyone ventured out in the rain successfully (or otherwise)?

The components that can not get wet are hidden within protective areas. Do not submerge the bike and maybe don't ride in a deluge. It is my understanding these bikes are made for daily riding in various conditions. I have rode in light intermittent drizzle without worry. BUT.... Tire traction was a different matter. The road was OK but the moment I hit a little gravel I bit it. I was going too fast but I didn't realize.
