Ride-On (Australia) E-Bikes Buying Guide

That is an awesome writeup Andrew! They covered just a ton of bikes and the table at the bottom is great. Neat to see the Easy Motion and Pedego models in there. I had never seen the Gazelle Balance Innergy XT before and the frame and seat post mount are very unique. Almost looks like a seat post shock or some kind of suspension. The non-parallel seat post and head tube design are also very unique. Cool stuff :D

Gazelle's are well established here. I did consider a Orange Plus X2 Innergy but the riding position is a little too upright for my liking plus they are a known pain to get the wheel off on the side of the ride. On an 84 km round-trip commute, punctures are part of life even with decent tyres.

If you expect a lot of wheel maintenance then maybe a mid-drive would be a good choice? There are lots of companies offering them now with Bosch, Panasonic, Impulse and Yamaha. The Kalkhoff bikes come in several flavors and may be available in your region?

Thanks for the suggestion. I will keep that in mind. I haven't really seen any mid-drive offerings here so far other than the Bergamont E-line CMGN I posted about earlier on. I haven't heard of Kalkhoff bikes here as yet.
