I'm only posting this because it's fascinating to see all the new innovation going with ebikes.
This new mid drive has an internal CVT, but also eliminates the need for rear gears at the hub. It claims to be heavily software based, which makes sense for what they are doing. The ebike OEM can tune it to whatever ebike type they want and make it their own unique offering. It's APP based and open platform.
They say it can be completely shiftless and automatically adjust to Hills or flats and speed and preferred cadence. As well it can be tuned to actually have shift levels so if someone wants 18 speeds, apparently you can feel the software based indexing. It's up to the ebike OEM what features and attributes they wish to include.
On the fly and continuous updates will be done to the software (aka Tesla style). They are including a specific battery pack too.
