removing the motor?

i have an appt on the 24th to get the motor pulled and shipped off for the controller upgrade

this shop does not do a lot of electric bike stuff

do we need any special tools etc? i will order them

cool, wasnt sure if there were any specials tools needed to remove it from the bike

You do need special tools. Bike shop likely has a crank puller and the appropriate bottom bracket tool to get the safety ring off but you may want to check. See this post.
