Redshift Announces 3 Day 25% Off Black Friday Sale

Thanks! Finally got the seat post to complement the stem that I like so much!

I received the same email from Redshift about the sale... thanks for posting. ;)

Just ordered my stem, $135 with supposed taxes paid to UK.
Time will tell, hopefully order being fulfilled locally as every time I buy anything from the USA I get stung for import taxes, vat and handling fees !

I recently installed a Redshift stem on my ebike and I'm really happy with it. I originally bought it for my road bike, which is now in storage for the winter, and was planning on ordering another one for it next Spring. Since they're on sale I ordered another one now.

I am thinking about ordering the stem from Redshift and have a few questions:
  • How much deflection do you see with your weight on the flat bars?
  • Do you have the standard 6' or 30' degree high stem angle?
  • Is the 30' stem a bit stiffer and have less deflection?
Thanks!

I've now got my stem set up for a fair amount of deflection (I can push the stem down with the front brake on). When I originally put the stem on I used the guidelines that came with the stem, but I found the stem didn't move at all, even when I pressed down with the front brake on.
Too stiff for me.
Note that the stem is on my ebike with drop bars, not flat bars.

I have the 6 degree stem.

Thanks for your feedback... I have heard from others that they went with the softer elastomers to get more deflection.

Received today, fulfilled by Amazon UK so anyone worried about additional import taxes etc has no need to - i paid an approximate extra $25 at the order check out. Given this is still £149.95 on AmazonUK, $132 delivered is pretty handy saving.

I am still waiting for the pair that I ordered... how long did your shipping take?
3 days. Ordered it Wednesday morning. It looks like it’s coming from the Las Vegas Amazon warehouse. You and I are relatively close in location, yeah? I’m on the Peninsula.

Yes, I'm also on the Peninsula and ordered on Thursday... hope they arrive early this week.

Let us know how you like the ride. ;)

While on the Redshift site I noticed they're taking pre-orders for a new, lighter stem called the Shockstop Pro. Since mine new stem is going on my light road bike this piqued my interest, until I found out the price.
$230 and the 25% off Black Friday discount isn't applicable, while the regular stem, with the 25% discount, can be had for $112.50.
On top of that the weight saving is only 50g, or 0.11 lb.
Needles to say, I ordered the regular stem. :)

Yea, I saw the Pro stem with Titanium hardware and thought about it for a minute... if it was full Ti, I would have ordered it.
As it stands now, the Pro is really marketed to weight weenies who want the lightest weight possible for every component.

Weightweenies. Yeah those folks who get cassette makers to hollow out their cogs. That's real helpful for we who like real motors on our bikes.
