Hello,
I'm a newbie here and needed to share a frustrating event. Thule T2 Pro locks need some attention given to them. For me it wasn't the locking mechanism but the fact that the locking cylinder has the key code for the lock embossed on the cylinder. Ordering "extra" keys is simple on thier website- if you have that code on the lock. Make sure you write the code from the lock down - then grind off.
My Thule rack (without bikes) was stolen a few days ago and it wasn't until I was assembling the new one I saw this. Kuat does the same thing. I was surprised to see it gone and even more surprised that there was no damage. For the replacement rack - the info is grinded off and I now have a chain from the vehicle frame to the rack frame.
Someone could order 200 sets of replacement keys and drive around looking for a $600 Thule rack to steal or better yet our bike off of it. I just wish I knew this earlier.
