Power surge

I have a pedego ridge Rider and after riding it for a while more than a half hour and number one power assist as I'm torquing the pedal I get a power surge. the bars go all the way to the top .it only happens in number one assist, goes away in any other assist level has anyone else experienced this problem.
Pedego technicians have no idea how to solve my problem

I'm not sure if this will be of any help but I had a similar surging issue with a Platinum Interceptor. Pedego tech support said it was likely the controller. The bike was still under warranty so they sent a new controller which I replaced myself. That solved the problem.

The Ridge Rider is a different model though so this may not be your problem.
