I have the Pace 500 and have ridden it 1,300 trouble free miles and still quite happy with it. Just wondering what others have for mileage on their 500 and what if anything has failed them.
I have close to 1700 miles on my Pace 500 and the only issue has been a single broken spoke which was due to a bad decision on my part. I ride 75 to 100 miles a week and it has been a great bike for me.
Hello TsAventon, thanks for participating and would you mind telling us about that bad decision? It would be nice if we, as a small group of same ownership could spread information to learn more about this bike. Thanks in advance, Al
Since purchase of 500 in Jun 2019, I have cycled nearly 6000 miles. Replaced tires, brakes and chain. Replaced Display under warranty for reset problem. Wish the PAS 1 acceleration could be lower and Throttle On Demand. But have gotten used to it. I like the Aventon Pace 500. Good bike. Reliable. Good value purchase. But I don't ride it much anymore since purchase of FLX Roadster with mid-drive torque sensor. Much more expensive, though.

As a reference point, I ride a men's Small Pace 500 and I weigh less than 150 lbs, so my 13 gauge spokes are not being stressed under normal use. I was riding in an unfamiliar area with recent road construction and as I approached the end of the road near an intersection, there was a large section of the concrete missing because they have plans to add bricks for aesthetic purposes. I did not realize how soft the dirt was and after pulling up on my front wheel to go over the far edge, the rear wheel hit very hard causing a single spoke to break at the j-bend. :-(
I no longer ride down the same road, as there are other ways around it that do not have the gap in the concrete. I am planning to swap my tires with 27.5 x 2.2 Kenda Kwick Drumlins as soon as I receive the replacement spoke I bought online.
Sorry for the spoke breaking and hope it’s not too big a deal. I also have the Pace 500 and weigh under 150lbs, and with 1,300 miles have not had that problem, thankfully . Good luck and ride safe.
Just happened after 1,300 miles. My M5 odometer reset to zero. I have read that others including other make bikes with the same display have had the same problem. Unfortunately, I’m out of warranty. Should I be concerned at all?
