I have a DIY ebike. I have a 60v 3000w rearhub motor. Rated at 60 amp. I just bought a 72v 3000w battery pack that is rated at 80 amp. How do I reduce amp output from battery? I read about resistance but am electronically challenged.

72v 3000w!! It’s the crash helmet and body armour stand you’re looking for buddy! 😁

Your controller should be controlling the amps if you were riding. I assume if you are using a throttle at max amps all the time you will have an issue. You still should be able to program the controller.

I have a 80 amp controller but wouldn't that burnout the mosfets?

I’m no expert but I think 60v x 60A = 3600w. So your motor will be 3600w peak 3000w nominal.
72v x 80A = 5760w! TOO much bro! You’ll cook it! 💥💥💥
