Its past time they did something. I think the highest elevation on the DelMarVa peninsula is just over 300 feet, if memory serves that's in southern Delaware. Most places the highest hill is a speed bump. Perfect terrain for cycling, but dangerous on the main roads. Friends of mine lost there grandson several years ago when he was hit by a car while cycling in OC.

I have family on the shore in Maryland and Virginia. Spent summers on the farm outside Cape Charles when I was a kid. Virginia is planning a ~50 mile rail trail from Cape Charles north.

There some great cycling opportunities on the shore. Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is perfect for touring. The roads have a tendency to hold water after a good rain though.
