Norco Bigfoot VLT 1 - Fat ebike

what are you gonna use it for? what do you look for in the bike?

Hey, I'm in Whistler BC and looking for a bike I can do light trails in summer and ride on bike paths in Winter. I don't know much about bikes though so I get kinda lost in all the technical specs.

Norco is a company I like but their bikes haven't been reviewed here on EBR and the price of this bike seems high for what you get (or don't get like a kickstand, fenders, rack..)

I'm also really interested in the iGO Outland OKA but it hasn't been reviewed yet.

Get the Norco! I love the Norco Sight VLT and if you want to ride flat trails in winter snow the fat tires on the Bigfoot make sense. But bear in mind you might want to go with a Fluid VLT or even a Charger VLT ( which can accept a rack and fenders easily if so desired) with slightly narrower tires ( 2.25 on the Charger and 2.6 on the Fluid) and then switch to studded tires in Winter when it freezes. I have a Charger 29er acoustic bike. Great bike! I leave the Schwalbe studded tires on all year and only ride that bike in Winter. Here is a link to a review of the Sight VLT if you can afford it.

IMO,
Looks pretty solid for the price. You are getting a lot of nice features on that bike. That's not an entry level fat bike.
I would be very happy with that bike.

Norco is a pretty respected name in the mountain bike industry.

I have a Norco 7.3 all-carbon (acoustic bike) that was converted by Bionx engineers to have a D500 motor - absolutely love it. As others have mentioned Norco is a trusted name in the bicycle industry.

The Bigfoot VLT 1 is their 'top' model in this series and looking at the specs, it's dreamy. The bike itself without the electronics would be an easy $3,500-4,500 purchase (CDN) and then add in high end motor setup it's easy to justify the price you're seeing.

If you have the budget, you will be super happy with this bike. It will ride awesome everywhere year round - except on pavement, lol - it will roll over pavement just fine but may buzz slightly (all fat bikes do) but if the pavement is getting you to the dirt/snow/mud/mountains it's totally worth it.

Here's a video my searches came up with, perhaps you have seen it, in case you haven't:

All I can say is damn, look at how much fun he's having.

Cheers

You won't see a review of the bike on EBR unless someone pays for it to be reviewed.

Ah k that explains why some bikes are not reviewed here. I expect to see a review of the iGO OKA eventually, I guess EBR just haven't got their hands on one yet. I'm guessing if the Core Extreme 2.0 has a good review and the OKA looks even better then it should be a good bike.

Hmm ya that might be a good idea. I've had a few Norco hard tails that I've loved so I know they're good bikes. Figured for riding in Whistler winter I'd need full fat tires.

Ha yes this is pretty much exactly what I'd like to be doing with my bike. In Winter I'd be using it to commute to work but lucky for me living here, this is what my commute would look like.

The Shimano E8000 unit has been used on some of the high end bikes like Bianchi e-SUV and Ducati Mig-RR.

I'd still get a SpeedBox or something to unleash its potential though 😁

Whoa up to 70k that's crazy fast on a bike!
