I don't know what it is or if you can buy one, but swapping out your front end for something like this should cheap and easy?

EDIT: It's expensive too, and has wheels that lean and pivot.

It is Pretty Damn Cool though!!

The "Cart" detaches to take along with you.
Perfect for hauling firewood!!

The price isn't too bad considering that it's all you need to convert your e-bike into an e-trike,..

The TreGo leans the whole trike over when you're turning, and you may not like that with your balance issues?

There might be something available that simply attaches to your forks but doesn't lean?
It would be a lot simpler and should be a lot cheaper too.

All you really need is just two front wheels that attach to your forks in the same way.

Basically just a two foot long axle with a wheel on each end, and support braces connected to your lower fork tubes.

That's what I know I'd wanna do.

Quads and trikes are rare and expensive.
Starting with a new analogue quad or trike that you like is the most important thing, and you can ride it while you save up for the electrics.

Used ebikes are Super Cheap now, and some of them are even free that you can use for parts.

You could place an ad asking for a bricked ebike. (maybe say "Nothing Stolen" in the ad ?)


Picking a trike or quad that's easy to electrify helps, so I'm thinking a regular metal frame with frame tubes that are as straight as possible to help with installing everything.
(drilling, tapping and welding regular steel is cheaper and easier)

Don't mount your battery where I did unless you're done having kids.

I'm not sure why I didn't see & respond to your post earlier.

Sorry to say, at 79, I'm not far behind you with the balance issue. I've also been looking at trikes & quads for some time now. Aside from the $$, my biggest concern is loading & transporting them. I also ride trails that can be rough in places. Then there is the problem of the many different types of vehicle barriers used where I ride. In some places, the dam bollards are too close together for a 2 wheeler, let alone a trike.

The collapsible models are a possibility. They could be easier to transport, but the idea of taking the bike apart to get through every barrier I encounter would be problematic.

Unfortunately, I'm strictly a trail rider and would rather give up the sport than switch to street riding. Mainly for safety reasons, I don't even ride my bikes short distances on road to get to local trails. Too many close calls over the years, and now even worse with texting & otherwise distracted drivers. On top of that, there is the issue of being seen on trikes built closer to the ground.

I see and agree about the roads,people act stupid when they think they are going to be delayed a few seconds,back in the day( with the broken vertebra it was a bit hellish) I had stand in the road 10 hours a day and try to keep the public safe,oft times they thought they knew more about the situation then I did) nowadays with the remote crossarms and traffic lights the situation is better for the workers,rumble strips help keep the "public slowed down" never did understand why people would be running 10 minutes late for an appointment and try to make up lost time( troopers like it though)

It could, but more likely to unweight a wheel. Then the rest of the bike will want to spiral around the one that's still on the ground.

I like that Trego fixed, except for the €499. about $592 USD, I hope the brakes are hydraulic and proportioned so you don't get lockup.

well the stability helps my older friend started crashing motorcycles( life long rider) he found one of the Italian motorcycles with the reverse trike setup( pretty narrow at that) helped him immensely,gonna check out the tre go,I have had the pieces for one of these one time,the problem was the axles,I think one that is mostly complete will serve my needs(the rack seems nice)

think I am going to try that,because of its pulling power want to put it on a folding 20x3 bike with 750 watt peak power.
