New owner here of a Specialized Turbo Vado. Moved from mountain biking to the ebike, mainly for fitness along the rail trails here in New England area. Not New to working on bikes but like to get others advice on hand/ wrist numbness after a few miles, how to deal or eliminate . So far Love!! The bike, wife rode it and went out and bought a Specialized Como😃

I experienced hand numbness on my Pace 500. The handlebars are swept back and the position I have my seat were pushing down on the heels of my hand causing numbness on long rides. I turned the handlebars down and it cured the problem. Hopefully it should work for you as well.

I seem to need to make a separate thread named "How to raise the handlebars in your e-bike"... :) Await!

Its hard to say what the exact answer will be for you as it could be many things.

I never really had any issues with this until this year and I spent most of the summer trying basically everything (gloves, grips, handle rise/sweeps, stem rise and length).

The 'easy' answer is the shorter the distance/higher your handlebars, the less pressure on your wrists. The downside is you will have less weight on the front wheel which will reduce traction in some cases although it might not matter for you. Who knows though, it could be as simple as getting different grips and/or gloves.

Stefan will recommend a stem riser as he always does;) I dislike them as they are usually way higher than I want and they are just downright ugly.

Easiest 'first step' for you would be to get an adjustable stem. I also dislike them and just prefer to get a stem exactly what I want

Thanks everyone for the info, I'm gonna try some extra padded gloves first but if persists I'm gonna probably have to raise the bars a tad or...maybe beefier grips??

I promised and made my promise @Studz :

I'm surprised by how many people report similar with their Turbo Vados - with a 20' upswept stem you'd have thought the front end would encourage a slightly more upright style and take some weight off the front.

I assume the retailer, or yourself, have done the basic bike fit , seat height , seat fore/aft settings to optimise your seat/pedal position ?

Yes, changed the seat to a more comfortable one yesterday and adjusted the fore/aft , a bit better..just think I gotta work on the handle bar position a bit..
