New Models (Trek)

Hello, What time of year do new models normally start to arrive. I am looking to buy a Trek and would like to get the most current motor and battery technology. I see Stromer recently introduced the 5 but there doesn't seem to me to be a time of year when updates occur. Specifically does anyone know when Trek normally updates their line? Thanks for the help

You might search for the threads on the SuperCommuter and the CrossRip+. These were two of the more recent new Trek models. I don't recall seeing the SuperCommuter in my local shop until early summer 2017 whereas the CrossRip+ was later like maybe later summer or early Fall. As for when they were announced, a search of the threads might provide that info. I also seem to recall seeing some of the new Powerflys hit their website later in the summer. So I doubt there is a fixed release date for all new models but recent experience and memory makes me think the newer Trek product is actually hitting the stores in early to late summer. I also think Trek is mostly a Bosch shop so I'm thinking the last major upgrades were the Powerpack 500 (from 400) and the eMTB mode for the CX motor (a software upgrade last summer I think). Per Court's Interbike video (can be searched for here "Bosch Interbike 2018") I think the next major upgrade is to the Active Line motor (smaller and quieter). So not sure when we would see bikes with that upgraded motor but perhaps the Bosch website would have more info.

Late Summer new models are released. The Supercommuter was late from when it was announced.
