Ordered 2 new color displays for Pace 500’s and one came today. Installed on wife’s step thru in less than 10 minutes. Only tool needed was a Allen key set. Installed with no issues. Pleasant surprise was that when I turned on the display it come on in PA 0 rather than PA 1 like the old display. Screen is nice and bright. Cell phone charging USB port really nice! Downloaded the app and it seems to work very well.

The display coming on in PA 0 was a real surprise. I did not see that in the list of features and benefits.

Will be going on a test ride tomorrow, assuming the rain holds off, and will get the wife’s input and post it here.

I did recently see that Aventon was offering the Aventure style display as an upgrade to their earlier eBikes. What is interesting to me is that yours now boots up in PAS 0, whereas it used to boot into PAS 1.

I have a Level which was from the early batch of their upgraded models allowing for Throttle on Demand (with no requirement that the bike be pedaled first), and based on their upgrade kit for older Levels, this involves changing the controller. I wonder if you now have Throttle on Demand with only the new display. That was the reason Aventon coded the new controller to boot into PAS 0 versus PAS 1 as before. To use Throttle on Demand, you have to knowingly select one of the PAS levels 1-5.

With new display the bike works the same as before only the boot up is in PAS 0 rather than 1. Other than that it works the same as with the original display. Better to boot up in 0 rather than 1 to avoid a surprise launch.
