New Bosch Performance Line SX motor

I'm excited about this motor. It is still larger and more powerful than I'd want ideally, but I like the fact that the weight has dropped and total system weight is only 4 kgs. A drop bar bike of 30 lbs or less is possible and it would be a pretty powerful bike.

I'm hoping more manufacturers continue to push the smaller and lighter motors. I've had a 60 lb. ebike and while I enjoyed it, the weight was always an issue.

I'm looking forward to new bikes with this new Bosch system. I would love to get this new motor on a bike with an IGH and carbon belt. That would be a great car replacement.

Interesting. So a little heavier than the TQ but also more powerful and a bigger battery -400wh.

Also a 250wh extender that adds 3.5lbs and can power the bike without the main battery if you are trying to shave weight.

Looks like there will be a class 3 version for the US/NZ called the Performance Line Sprint.

I'm also interested in this motor. I have a Bosch gen 4 motor in my e-gravel bike and have been very happy with it. The only downside is it's on the heavy side (38 lbs). I'd love to see this motor in a 25-27 lb. road bike.
A 400W battery would be more than enough for a bike that light and the peak 600W power output would be nice for those really steep hills.
Edit: Hopefully, we'll see this new motor in some road/gravel bikes at Eurobike.

I wonder for how many minutes the 600 W could be sustained and whether the 600 W is the electrical or mechanical peak power.
Because the 240 W of the SL 1.2 is the mechanical power that can be sustained for a long time, and I hope the same would be with the 300 W of the SL 1.2.

Anybody have new intelligence about this motor -- specifically, which 2024 gravel bikes will be using it? (I'm particularly wondering about Canyon, which heretofore has used the CX version.)
