I'm doing research prior to my first ebike purchase. I would like to get opinions on how important a motor inhibitor switch is on an ebike. I rarely see a motor inhibitor on Class 1 bikes. Thanks

Right, the inhibitor exists so that the brakes and the motor aren't competing forces against one another.
On the other hand, one really shouldn't be pedaling and braking at the same time.
it is because you need a cutoff for the throttle. maybe hub drives hae them as default not sure but its mainly to disable the throttle. torque sensors wont need them.
