Mileage on Giant Road-e

I thought this information may be useful for anyone thinking about a road-e as i was searching for data when i was looking at this bike

I recently acquired a Giant Road-e to assist on my 34 miles commute from northern VA to Wash DC, my setting is on Eco and i have been getting 136 miles on single charge with about 2% left of battery. I am pleased with the battery performance and the amount of assist on eco is quite sufficient. There is a 2 mile stretch on my route where i can reach 31 mph on normal mode. Another pleasant surprise is that there is virtually no drag when battery is off, the bike feels heavy, but no feeling of drag when pedalling

136 miles is excellent ! To achieve this you must be putting in a significant effort. I too have a Giant e-bike. now with close to 3,000 miles. I have posted here on my experience with milage on a single charge. I routinely achieve 85-90 mostly in Eco. My best is 116 miles per charge. This bike, 500 watt battery and 250 watt motor seems to be an excellent combination.

After 135mi this week commuting, there is 7% left on battery

Last week, the bike was able to do 170 miles on a single charge. My commute is 34 miles round trip and i only use Eco mode.

I swapped out the stock wheels with carbon wheelset and bigger volume tires which smoothed out a lot of bumps and the lighter wheels roll faster. The wheels saved me about 1.5 lbs

The avg Speed is around 13 mph including traffic stops, etc.

Overall, time is about 5 mins faster each way than on my regular road bike, but it’s good to know that i have assist when i need it.

The best I have done is 116 miles on a charge with the Giant Road-E. 85-90 miles is my average per charge. When riding do you always have the motor turned on, or do you sometimes turn it off. Yesterday I finished a 550 mile tour (5 day) from San Francisco to Orange County Ca via Coast highway with the Road-E. I will write a review here shortly.
