Hey Adelle, you should post this under the 8fun/Bafang forum to get more replies or more accurate replies, I should say. The only problem I can for see is cabling issues. The battery can be mounted on the rear rack, allowing the bike to retain its folding capabilities, but that requires longer cables from the batter to the motor.
I don't own a bafang/8fun system yet, but I'm looking into getting one in the future. Good luck.
I recently purchased a folding ebike for my sailboat. I love it and I think what you are up to is going to be even better.I am looking at buying a Giant Expressway 1 and would like to fit a 8Fun mid motor to this bike, can this be done? Has anyone done this before?
Thanks for that, I am really excited. I decided on the Giant Expressway 1 bike, we have local support on these bikes so guarantee, servicing etc. should be no problem. Now just waiting for the motor to arrive.I recently purchased a folding ebike for my sailboat. I love it and I think what you are up to is going to be even better.
Hey RoyL,
how do you step down the voltage to supply your lights off the 48V battery?
