MFG date on ebikes and battery

I am considering purchasing a new ebike Sept 2022. If the ebike is mfg in 2022, but the battery is mfg in 2020 or 2021. Is that acceptable?

I cannot answer for inexpensive e-bikes. On big brand bikes, the batteries come "hibernated" and they are "woken up" by first charging. For instance, the first battery on my Specialized Vado 5.0 was manufactured in 2017. It was only activated on Oct 31st, 2019 before I received the e-bike from the LBS. It is 2022, and that very battery is the best of the three batteries I own for that e-bike!

Thanks Stefan Mikes for the response. I wanted to make sure that the battery pack I receive will be fresh and state of art at time of purchase and get the longest performance. I'm not sure what the environment is or how the battery packs are stored before receiving if they are 1 or 2 years old.
