I love this bike for the "beast" that it is on our rural asphalt roads in SW Washington. However, I am constantly dealing with brake issues. I have 3000 miles on it and have change the rear pads numerous times. I am constantly cleaning the rotors to remove anything that may cause noise. I finally changed out the rear caliper for a Shimano one and had some better luck with that. ( When I inquired with Addmotor they charge exhorbitant prices for their "custom" ones. My front brakes have required me changing out the cable 2 times and the caliper once. Brake. pads have been replaced 4 times. My question is has anyone change to another brake system that "squeaked" less and required less tinkering with?
Second issue: my back axel just broke. Addmotor is sending me a new one for a fee to be installed. 60 day+ wait for that to arrive. In the meantime, my neighbor who does metal fabrication for trucks and cars was able to weld my axel back together and reinstall it for me. I am only 150#, so not sure how or why this happened but wanted to share with other riders.
