Locking the Creo Motor

So Mission Control for Creo doesn't have a lock function, but I thought of something creative. Here's a tip. Create a profile called Locked. Then set each turbo assist level to 0% - 10%. When you duck in for a Gatorade, set the Mission Control profile to Locked. No one is going to get very far on 10% assist. You could probably chase them down on foot fairly easily. (Especially if you have the Aluminum frame! ;-)

For some reason, the Mission Control app wouldn't let me set the assist levels to 0% - 0%. I sent in a request to Specialized. If the App (and the bike's controller) can accommodate this, then we'll have a true Lock mode for the Creo. But the workaround above should be pretty decent.

Good thought, but I think they’d just change the mode.

I’m not sure I see any value in even a 0/0 setting, as these bikes aren’t that difficult to ride without assist. A thief would likely just steal the bike and try to figure it out later.

It says here that it "electronically locks the motor support for the bike".

My dealer told me explicitly that it can still be pedaled, but I don't see that documented online one way or another. By inference, I'm inclined to suspect that it leaves the bike able to be pedaled, because if it truly locks the pedals, I'd think they'd say that.

yes, this. i ride my creo no power 99% of the time, it’s really totally ridable without the motor. thieves are generally physically able

would be much more interesting if there was an actual lock - vanMoof, for example, has an electronic kick lock in the hub that immobilizes the rear wheel unless your phone is near the bike or you otherwise unlock it.

I was looking at this to, but all I could find was that is stops the power. I ride my Creo most days with zero power, so easy to ride with no assistance, so that lock function is useless to me. Something to lock the motor would be ace

I've been telling my friends, there is nothing on the new full price 2022 models that is worth the price difference between the sale price of the remaining 2021 models. Not even the new TCU or SRAM.

Yep, I too bought a sale priced 2021. It came with SRAM AXS Eagle, and I love it!

Actually, you’re not missing much without Mastermind, as BLEvo combined with the O-Synce remote comes pretty close to offering the same 10% step function. Not exactly, but close enough for me, and it cost less than $100 to add it. Considering I saved $3700 on the bike, I’m happy.
