Larger E-Bike chain ring

I tried a 58-Tooth once. It was fast but could not shift into the lower geared range of the cassette without the chain falling off. Too large of a chainring will over stress the drivetrain. I used to think that bigger is better. I stand corrected.

The giant 58-Tooth chainring was an experiment. I learn best when I screw up. The rear lower cogs of the rear cassette pulled in the chainline enough to derail the front ring on the inside. I know, it is weird. I wanted to go 50 Mph. A 50-T chainring is nice to a Nexus hub of internal gears because the chainline stays straight, but that set-up will not hold up. It will overstress internal bearings and other parts of the drivetrain. It is better to proceed with moderation and not push the outer limits of stress on components. That one was an 11-36T.
