A college friend and I started riding/tinkering with fat tires back in the '70s. We started by putting gears on old paper boy bikes. From there, it was modded beach cruisers, then 26" BMX frames. One day the manager at our local shop showed up with this insane hand-built MTB, made in Cali by his friend Tom Ritchey. We put in our orders the next day. It was all (up and) downhill from there.
Fastfwd 40+ years... pushing big hills and hairball descents no longer qualify as fun. Ebike seemed an ideal way to stay in the saddle and cover ground while backcountry exploring/hunting. I just scored a smokin' deal on an essentially new 2022 Bakcou Mule, so it's game on. Really glad to have found this collection of forums and can learn a lot here.
(I don't like riding in mud btw, it's a Frank Zappa reference...)
