I was into biking way back when I was in my 20s (and of course when I was a kid), but then kids and family tended to get in the way of things. Now most of my kids are grown up and I have a little more time. I live in Manhattan. My company's Incentfit program offered to pay up to $700 per year on fitness equipment, and this included E-bikes, so I figured I'd give one a try. I bought a 36V Macwheel Macmission 100 from Woot when they had one on sale last year. It's a strictly entry-level bike; it has a 7 speed Shimano gearset, disc brakes (unknown brand), and Bafang electrics (the battery's made by KAIS and uses some annoyingly proprietary 4-pin charge connector, as if the world needed more types of plugs). Macwheel doesn't offer any after-sale support, but I'm pretty handy and did lots of bike repairs back in the day; also I'm comfortable around basic electronics, so this isn't a big deal (except for the aforementioned proprietary connector).

Anyway, hello!
