Hello from Westyorkshire UK

Good for you, having studied in Sheffield for a year (this was 20 years ago before ebikes were a thing) and spent hours walking up hill from the city center carrying heavy shopping bags I appreciate how ebikes would work great for Yorkshire hills

Many thanks for your kind comments, yes they are a great means of transport, tootling along viewing lovely countryside that being in a car can never offer.

Hi Dewey, I was wondering how your year in Sheffield was, i hope Yorkshire folk were kind to you 😀

I’d wanted to go for my undergraduate degree but didn’t get the a-level grades I needed so I was chuffed to be able to study for a graduate library Masters. As part of my research I visited Community libraries around Rotherham in Dinnington, Greasbrough, Maltby and Herringthorpe. I loved seeing the countryside on the bus rides over, the poppies in the fields. This was in 2002 after the Labor govt had invested in putting computers and the internet in libraries. I enjoyed walking in the Peak District, it’s no surprise one of England’s ebike designers comes from there! https://formebikes.co.uk/formed-by-the-uk

Hi Dewey, thanks for replying, I am very familiar with the the places you have mentioned, I live in Leeds, visiting most local swimming pools including ponds forge when my son was playing waterpolo, he went on to play for GB in the 2012 Olympics. Some great cycle paths in the Peak District, please take care. Brian

How great he got to the Olympics, my nephew is a Team GB kayak rower, spends lots of time driving from Warwick up to Nottingham to use their facilities, hope he hasn’t missed his opportunity with Tokyo cancelled. I enjoyed visiting Fountains Abbey and the views from atop Ilkley Moor with a friend from Cleckheaton.

Brilliant, came on here for ebike help, hopefully made a new friend 👍

Heh, it will be a while before I’m up your way again more’s the pity. I live now in the US just outside Washington, DC. If the election isn’t hijacked and we get a competent administration and when travel resumes I hope to visit Mum in Leicester at the end of 2021.

Hope your mums well, and end of 2021 will soon be here, pass my best wishes on to your nephew for the Olympics, take care.

Cheers, enjoy some photos of homes decorated for Halloween around here, note the headline these are “scaled back” from their usual efforts ...
