Hello fellow e-bikers! Glad to have found the forum (finally). My name is Steve, and I have been commuting on an e-bike for almost 3 years. I ride a 2016 Cube Hybrid Reaction Race Hard Tail. It runs a Bosch Performance CX with a Badass tuning box, a milk crate mounted to a rear rack and runs on DT Swiss 350 Classic hubbed wheels. As of this post, I have somewhere around 16000 km on it, and came across the forum as I was searching for main bearings as a possible cure to a peculiar vibration the bike has developed at a certain cadence. After looking through some of the threads, it looks as though this is a good place to share info and pick the brains for those with more know!

Cheers from the west coast of Canada!

Steve

Steve ...

Welcome to the EBR Forum. It's twenty years since we visited Victoria; Jen had family friends living somewhere rather impressive to the west of the harbour. What a beautiful town and island.

Your bike immediately attracted my attention - my eMTB (Trek Powerfly) is quite similar but I must admit that its purpose - for me at any rate - is to tame my local jarringly rough rail trail which stretches north for 160 km just two minutes from home. Real mountain biking is probably something that it will never experience.

We live on the far side of the Pacific (inland from Brisbane) where it is now midwinter - two below zero this morning and a max in the low twenties without a cloud to be seen... and that's the way it will be all week. Perfect cycling weather through the middle of the day.

Please post some photos of your rides. Here's a link to the relevant EBR Forum thread: Show us pics of where you ride (my own take on the Pacific coast, not on the eMTB, is #3).

My son and his wife live in Van and they called me last night awaiting the ferry home as they love it over on the Island and have a school, UBC, friend that lives in Nanaimo. They went out to Sook to look around there for some property that they hope to be able to buy some day.

I've spent some time on the island but have seen the entire east coast traveling to AK over the years. My son said there are roads for days there, especially logging ones behind locked gates so no traffic and so many clear cuts, so little time. If I ever get over there let's ride!
