Hi all. New and purchasing 1st time and looking for suggestions for good lbs in the tampa area. Im specifically in cleawater area and trying to find a utilitarian commuter and not sure if its better at this point to buy online and work on myself or try to use lbs. Ive been to 3. One had two bikes (a d/c' d stromer m2 (?) 2017 version for 2 grand and a cheap fold up no name which he said "the drunks like because they dont really care"

Second place had more selection but the guys didnt even speak to me when i came in, i was there 10 mins and finally had to ask about a bike and they assumed i knew nothing. The guy said theyve been working on electric bikes since they came out, they can do this and do that and every question i had about the bike ( can i replace these rims) he turned into a disagreement.(oh u dont wanna do that thats a mistake)...just very overbearing and then couldnt even figure out how to turn it on
Then theres a shop closeby that is called pedego cycles or something but i dont want a pedego. So theres a place in tampa called crazy eddies i think...im wondering whether to even bother?
Also NONE of these people ever even offered for me to take a test ride, in fact i was there 15 mins before they would even pull the bike out so i could actually SEE it.
Sigh. Is this nrml for bike shops (as ive always worked on my own regular bikes never used a bike shop except maybe for a part) or is it just florida? And if so would i be better buying online? Im pretty mechanically inclined... im not an engineer or anything but a diy build doesnt even seem undoable if i had the time ....but the prefabs now seem an easier option with decent results like a juiced...just worried with certain issues i may need a shop and noone can help.
Anyway any advice for shops or first time suggestions would be welcome. Always ready to learn and open to advice and cheers court come down to St Pete Clearwater anytime for a beach ride down the coast from madiera/st johns pass up tp siesta key.....bar hop.....crabs....the works!!
