I have a Lectric 3XP bike for about a year now. I try to ride it every day, weather permitting, but I can only ride it for about seven miles and then my butt gets achy. I am also a little bit older. A seven mile daily ride is just fine for me.

Welcome to the Forum and glad that are enjoying your riding.

With regard to your sore butt, you could try a number of options to stop butt pain.

Firstly, ensure that you have got the saddle set up correctly for you, height, tilt fore and aft, etc.

Secondly, you can try different saddles, there are so many out there. I use an Ergon SC Core Prime Mens after trying many.

Thirdly, you could consider a suspension seat post. I use the Kinect and that made a huge improvement in comfort after changing from a Cane Creek Thudbuster to an eeSilk+.

Welcome, also, to the forum from a southern Wisconsinite. We all would hope that your 7 mile limit does not keep you from fully enjoying your ebike.

Achy butt is generally associated with a reduction in blood flow caused by an impingement from your riding position. As DiggyGun describes, be sure first that you are properly positioned on your bike. Then make sure you have the right saddle for your posterior with an understanding that a too-wide saddle can cause more impingement/discomfort than a moderately narrow saddle. You may also consider padded biking shorts or underwear.

I am 72 yrs old and ride 30-40 miles daily without any butt discomfort. Hopefully you can increase your daily enjoyment as well.

I am a wee bit older than you. I could safely extend my ride to 11 miles round trip using the back roads around my house. It takes me about 55 minutes to do the 7 miles out and back. Most days I can only commit 1.5 hours because of other activities. I would however like to do the 11 miles when time permits. As has been mentioned before, I am sure that the saddle is the issue. I just don't know where to start when replacing it.

Thank you for your reply

Can you post a picture of the bike and if possible, one with you on the bike.
