Hey from Chesterfield, Michigan. My name is June. I just got a new Gazelle Medeo T9 Classic. I got a Giant leg-over bike in 2005 or so and rode it a lot. Then my hips started going bad. I had two hip replacements in 2015 and 2016. After all the physical therapy I went to a Trek store and got a Townie step-through. I couldn't swing my leg over my Giant bike anymore. When I bought the Townie, I just thought it was a cute bike, but there is no suspension on that bike, and I'm 68 years old, tall and my back is "hinky." I need suspension. However, I rode that cute little bike a heck of a lot this past several years. On my last ride -- my sort of longish ride since winter -- I noticed my left hip aching for several days afterwards. Okay.......so I finally bit the bullet and went to look at ebikes. I drove to Ypsilanti to H.E.H. Bikes -- a really nice ebike shop. I had been looking at the Gazelles, and after riding a few, I settled on the Georgia Peach Gazelle Medeo. I put my favorite big butt seat on it and have been riding the heck out of it every day. Normally I'd ride my Townie maybe once/week. Now I ride everyday, because really.....who doesn't want to FLY?? I was thinking that an ebike would cut down on working when I rode and I wouldn't get enough exercise, but quite the opposite seems to be true. I ride longer and much more often. I seriously LOVE this bike, and I'm looking forward to reading about all the ebike riders on here. Wish we could still ride in huge groups. Last year I started riding on Monday nights with Slow Roll Detroit, but they aren't meeting this year -- nor are any of the tours that I would go on once in awhile. Guess it's just not safe. I have ridden with a couple friends, and we keep distance. But large groups aren't good right now. Take care out there. Nice to be here.
