Hello from Germany!

Hello there, you may saw me post something here already.

Since I shot some pictures of my bike I thought, why not present it here.

Im 27 years old and from germany.

As a child up to 13 - 14 years old, the only thing I did was riding bikes.
Came home from school, eat something out on the bike with friends into nature and get home when it got dark.
Thats all we did.

And all I had were crappy 100 - 150$/€ bikes, but that didnt matter, we had fun.

Getting older somehow I ceased to go biking and we all sat infront of the pc the whole day playing games over the internet.

Then I a year back or so, I saw a ad for the Radrover from Rad Power Bikes and that got me interested into ebikes and back into riding in general.

They look cool, have a decent amount of power and are affordable.
Before that, ebikes had a different image in my head.
Back then, those bikes were still illegal in germany (too much wattage etc), but the EU passed a law at the start of 2k18 which allowed those and RadPowerBikes got out a modified version of the Radrover to be legal here, called the Radrhino.

I immediately bought it and had quite a good expirience with the bike.

At the moment I got around 625 Km or 388 miles on it.

The rides werent totally issue free, but overall for that price, Im content.

Things I´ve done to this bike till today:

Adjusted everything from the brakes to the drive train
Took off the front fender (was too wobbly and noisy)
Installed a Suntour NCX SP12 seat suspension

To do list:

Hydraulic brakes
New tires with less rolling resistance and more puncture durability (Maxxim Mammoth TR EXO)
Trying to go tubeless with stock rims, if it doesnt work: new rims
Exterminating the clicking noise I get from the front of the bike or drive train, "drives" me nuts

Otherwise Im pretty happy with the bike but still a lot to do.

And now Im not only interested in ebikes, but in MTB in general.
Unfortunaly I have some issues with my right hip, so too much stress and it hurts.
I have a appointment with a specialist in july.
If it works out, maybe I get back into MTB even without motors.
Then that aside, where I live in germany, its pretty much flat and not many trails around here to have fun, unfortunaly but Im making the best out of it.

Here a pic of it in the wild.

@Rakku
Welcome to the forum.
Your clicking noise may be coming from a loose spoke, had same issue and it spoiled my rides till I decided to tighten all the spokes by 1/4 turn, some were very firm and turned only a tiny fraction but the one that were making the noise turned 2 or 3 full turns to be as tight as the rest, since then no more clicking noises.
Nice picture, please post some more.
Here is mine in Canada.

Welcome Rakku - and nice bike and picture. It surprises me to hear a German buying a North American bike when you have such a great selection of German and European bikes. I'm always envious to see the selection of great bikes that Europe offers that we don't have access to.

@AguassissiM

You are right, I didnt check the front tire for loose spokes, only the back one!
I´ll do that as soon as my new spoke wrench arrives, it was a pain with the old one.
And canada, oh boy must be realy nice to bike there, one of the most beautiful places!
And I like your bike, what is it?

@Over50

Hi there!
Well, you may be surpised, many bikes are maybe designed here, but cost-wise the bikes here are not that great.
At least I didnt find anything legal and affordable as the Radrhino here at all.

My mother got a Kalkhoff bike.
Yeah its middrive, but less wattage, less torque, NO disc brakes (hydraulic rim brakes), less top speed and friggin 600€ more then my radrover.

I mean sure, you get a bosch over a bafang motor, but for that price?
I got way more going on on the Radrhino then the Kalkhoff.

The only reason why my mother got the Kalkhoff was, that she has back problems and needs a very upright posture, which isnt provided by MTB´s.

Oh neat bike, I like the fullsuspension one, but a bit too costly with those components in my opinion.
But I dont know if its canadian dollars or something else.

You probably were looking at the $C prices. There's a currency toggle to USD at the top left. There's multiple Canadian companies offering similar bikes. Surface604, Biktrix, Teo, Voltbike etc etc etc
