I'm Dave and I haven't owned a bicycle for probably over 20 years. That kind of sounds like an introduction at an AA meeting. lol
During the summer I live on a boat and want to use the ebike to get groceries and to explore towns and island trails etc.. I tried a Pedego Latch and had a hard time controlling it. The balance is so rear biased with the battery in the back and front wheel drive made the steering really light and wobbly. I watched a video with a couple people riding the Pedego and they didn't seem to have any trouble, which concerns me. I'm going to try an E-Joe Epic SE next but what really caught my eye was the Gocycle. There is a store in Palo Alto that sells them. I'm waiting for a sunny day to try one.
