hey guys my names jason and im after one of these ebikes i originally was going to get a xduro fs 27.5 but then i bumped into the nduros and they are so beautiful .im very new to ebikes and was just wondering would a nduro with 26inch wheels still be ok as a commuter and does anyone know of some good dealers in australia cause i went to one and im looking at like 10k for a nduro pro or around there anyway .

also is it true that bike manafacturers are ditching the 26inch wheel soon and sticking with 27.5 and 29er .

im just after a bike that is tough that i can throw around in forest on weekends and commute to work on normal days .

im really stumped atm.im only a thin guy to so do i need to worry about frame size and stuff or ?.sorry very new to this :) any help would be much appreciated .

Jason I would really recommend the AMT Pro over the Nduro for your purposes. The Nduro is really more of a downhill setup and you might find it less versatile than the Nduro. I would also recommend you look at the Focus Thron. It's really built for that purpose. Commute to work and take it off roading when you want.

I think there is a Haibike dealer in Melbourne but I don't know where you're located.

I would recommend connecting with Mark @ Ebike Reviews. He has populated a list of credible dealers in AUS area.
Right now, Haibike is not available but they are working on bringing in. The best bet would be to get Bosch Gepida Ruga 2015.
The 2014 has mediocre componentry but the 2015 has been updated. Eurocycles owner Rick krassoi is also managing Magura and Bosch in AUS.
The 2015 Ruga comes with Magura brakes, Performance line Bosch drivetrain, Shimano saint pedals, Thru axle front and back and Rockshox Reba. It looks like this

oh ok cause i was told by a dealer in perth that said he would have haibikes early jan 2015 .but yeh im just not sure about the 27.5 wheels on amt pro cause everytime i see someone using them it seems they cant jump as high or not as manuverable .do you guys still think the 27.5 wheel is as good as 26wheel for jumps and stuff.

That Ruga looks rather nice. :)

I still don't grasp what all of the fuss is about in relation to Haibikes. Over here they are vastly overpriced, often poorly finished, and depending on bike, under spec and too heavy when compared with other manufacturers bikes that are supposed to be broadly the same. Haibike would be at the bottom of my list. I just can't get excited by them in any way shape or form.

Whatever bike that you decide upon, try to avoid Bosch Nyon. Owners in Europe are reporting more and more problems with it, and I'm just about to bin mine, in favour of fitting the old Intuvia system.

well i was looking at the bh evo jumper 2015 also but that didnt look as good quality as the haibike what you guys reakon about bh bikes im very new to electric biks so yeh im even looking at a giant athem advanced 0 that looks amazing so im not sold on electric yet guess ill just have to test them out but yeh also i seem a new atm lycon what are you guys thoughts on them ?.

I assume that by lycon, you actually mean the KTM Lycan.

As far I am aware KTM currently make three version of the bike, photos below.

The first version uses the superb Panasonic hub drive and battery system. For this year (2015) it has been upgraded to a 562Wh 12Ah battery. It already offered possibly one of the best ranges available when it had 412wh, so I would imagine that it will pretty much be a class leader now. The hard tail version, the E-Race P is on my wish list.

The two Macina Lycan's Bothe use the Bosch Performance mid drive system. The white bike has a slightly lower spec and does not have the Nyon display that the black and orange bike has. Trust me, this is a good thing not to have.
I choose to own the GPS + bike simply because it had slightly better spec components for my hard use, and I did not like the white colour. Like many others, I could well do without the Nyon, and I'm about to bin it, and fit the older style Intuvia system to the bike. The biggest issue that the Bosch motor has, and this is a cross range problem Haibike included, is that when the going gets muddy, the bike suffers from chain suck. (Check the Bosch section on here for an example) Bosch removed the issue of the chain jumping off with the larger old style sprocket, but have now swapped it for an even worse issue. Personally I think that if Bosch don't get their act together, then Yamaha and Shimano will storm ahead, and Bosch motors for off road use, just won't exist.
You can't deny that they climb very well, but battery life isn't as great when compared to my old Bosch system. As much as I am enjoying the Lycan, it is somehow missing something, that I haven't yet placed my finger upon. It might be that it is such a good package, that it has slightly lost the edge that I love so much of fettling and improving. The BH Xtrem very good in respect of that.

edit.. Don't just buy a bike without trying one first, and in particular I'd say this in respect of KTM. The reason that I say it, is that to me, the frame sizing comes up slightly smaller than expected.

hmmm im thinking now with all the problems ive heard about these bikes that maybe i should stick with just a normal Giant reign advanced 0 team bike about 7 k but at least i dont have all these problems and the one guy who is a dealer where i am dosnt seem like he would be to reliable if something went wrong considering his prices are thru the roof and hes telling me that if i order from anyone else states or whatnot that i will have heaps of problems kinda sounds like hes just trying to make a sale and dosnt sound genuine at all .

I found technical details that you might find helpful. http://electricbikereview.com/community/posts/20517/
