Giant LaFree E +1 question

I have an LaFree +1 on order. Curious if anyone has changed out the minimalist controller that comes with it. I asked the dealer today could it be replaced with a controller that displayed speed, distance, battery and power settings. He was going to research. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have a smartphone, you could use the RideControl app. That does everything you're asking for plus the ability to modify your assistance levels and sync with Strava etc.

I thought this was going to be an issue for me. I have the Lafree E+2. Honestly, I love not having the attached display for the theft reasons and stealthy regular bike look. Try it out for a while and see if it bothers you. That's what I did and now I'm glad I left well alone. Also the app lets you know just as many details as a display. It also updates now and then with new features. Something you wouldn't receive having a display.

I do have a smartphone and have already downloaded the apps. I think I need to see what it does before I jump into something else. I assume you can mount your phone on the handlebars. Thanks for your help.

Thank you. Makes sense to use it first. I want to track miles and heart rate for sure. Your comments are appreciated
