External battery bracket malfunction

I have seen where others here have had Haibike battery-related problems, but can't find anything about the external bracket failing to release the battery. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? The bracket, mounted atop the downtube on my 2016 Sduro Fullnine RX, stopped functioning; i.e., won't release the upper end of the battery.

I cannot find any way to undo the latch holding the battery in. The key will turn, it even goes all the way over to where it's supposed to, around 1/4 of a turn, but no release.

If anyone else had this problem, how did you fix it, if you did?

So.... verify it's a Yamaha battery you are talking about... and it will not come out sideways when you unlock it.

It has a Yamaha motor. Whether or not the battery is Yamaha, I can't say for certain, but it's the battery that came on the bike and, yes, it comes out and goes in sideways. The problem is that the bracket won't unlock, or release the battery.

About a week into owning my Allant+7, my battery would not unlock so I couldn’t remove it. Key would turn but it just wouldn’t release. Took it to my local Trek guy and he had it out and the mechanism aligned within a couple hours. Didn’t charge me anything and its been perfect ever since.

Sorry, I have no idea. The Allant uses an ABUS lock system.
I don’t know exactly how my Trek guy got the battery out but I’m sure it may be a similar system.

A follow up to the question @Brooks brings up: Is this a Yamaha battery or one of those alibaba china batteries that had a brief run of sales in the Haibike Yamaha world until the owners found the battery give up the ghost early on?

Take a pic and post it here, if you will. A true Yamaha battery will have a smooth exterior with no raised oval ridges on the side of the battery case as found on that china junk. In addition, the battery bms function lamp will be branded with the YAMAHA logo below the on/off switch.

Haibike batteries that came with the bike feature their proprietary HAIBIKE decall and top decal featuring the German ePerformance SDuro logo on the decal. Replacement OEM Yamaha batteries may also not come with these Haibike decals pasted on the battery unless the owner took care to buy those decals from overseas Haibike vendors; something I had to do with my own two spare batteries....

The battery that is stuck on the bike right now is currently in the shop for the other work (components replacement) plus the stuck battery problem. The problem, I'm quite convinced, is with the locking mechanism, not with the battery itself. The battery currently on the frame is a replacement battery, but looks identical to the OEM battery save no decals. The OEM battery (one that came with the bike originally) has all the markings of a Yamaha battery you identified.
