Everyone tells me the $2,900 Pedego 24" Trail Tacker is too expensive for what it is but they can't tell me an alternative to compete with this bike.

24" Fat Bike.
Throttle Override at any level
Integrated battery.

What other bike in this size with wider tires can do throttle override and especially the integrated battery? Such a clean look.

I've had no regrets purchasing my two his/her Radrovers for $1500 each. Similar specs as the Pedego 24" with full 750w throttle at any PAS level. I like the standard Dolphin battery pack because of easy 3rd party replacements down the road and aftermarket battery upgrades for more power/longer range. Thinking about adding a mid-drive kit to an old bike and using my Radrover battery when I ride (save me $500 on the mid-drive kit).

Hi, if you haven't punched a bike yet, check out Dave, at E-glide.com. I bought one delivered for under $2k three weeks ago and can't talk enough about it. Took me 30 minutes to set it up. So far I've tested on hills and for distance with great results. Couldn't be happier. This bike comes with great components and with a powerful motor and battery. Bike weighs just 41 lbs without the battery. Not sold through retailers. They are based in Santa Monica and well worth a look. Dave the designer and owner is the best to work with. I'm based in Sacramento area and ride this bike on many of the areas bike trails. Should have purchased years ago. So much fun. I also purchased a walk through Swagman Sitkka2 rack for the bike. Perfect!

Disclainer: I own a Pedego (Interceptor).

The premium you pay on a Pedego bike is paying for the large dealer network and the fairly generous warranty. If you plan on riding the bike hard and depending on it those things are valuable to you. If you aren't doing those things the value of said premium is more questionable.

In general all Pedego bikes I've tried have an "overbuilt" feel to them compared to other ebikes I have tried. The downside of "overbuilt" is that it makes the bikes heavy monsters to haul around and the upside is they can take quite a bit of abuse (and use).

One question: you are focused on the 24" trail tracker here. Is that because that bike is more likely to fit you? I agree that there are very few options for a fat-tire ebike in that particular wheel size.
