Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum and new to Ebikes. I am looking for recommendations for a short daily commute (2-3 miles), that I would likely lock up outside while at work and then have to bring inside a single flight of stairs when I get home. I would also use it as my general mode of transportation. Looking for something somewhat light, not too flashy (don't want it stolen), that can be in rain, doesn't need a ton of power (although it would be fun), around $1000.

I like the look of the Propella. I also came across a used 2017 Trek Dual Sport + for sale for $1000 nearby. As I said I'm very new to this so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

For 2-3 miles, I wouldn't get an eBike. What distances will you ride for your general transportation? What would your plans be for the winter? Getting a 60 pound bike up and down stairs everyday will not be a joy. Maybe you will average 15mph on an eBike in the city, maybe 12mph with a much lighter traditional bike. I don't see the advantage and worry about the eBike paying off.

I have used a traditional bike for the last couple years. Basically, I don't want to arrive at work covered in sweat and think an ebike may help with that.
