e-bike and hip replacements

I am about to under go hip replacement and was wondering if I can expect to be able to ride an electric bike after surgery? I worry about balance and would like to hear from anyone who has gone thru this themselves and what suggestions they might have. Thank you. Carl.

I had a THR in March of 2016 which closed my long motorcycling career, and re-opened my bicycling one and ultimately (recently) led to e-bike obsession. No regrets.

DO your PT exactly as prescribed post surgery by your Ortho. Surgeon and your Physical Therapist (trust me, you'll be referring to them as a "Physical Terrorist" almost immediately!) as balance is a big part of that rehab process.

I don't think my balance will ever be exactly as it was pre THR, but I understand thats common. I'd say I'm 95% of my original, graceful self but the benefits outweigh the disadvantages,

Once you start walking you can also start your cycling. You are better off using an ebike with just pure cadence sensor for an even speed (without surging). A torque sensor can cause surging when you pedal the stronger (unoperated) leg.
