I can't find any reliable information about the reliability of Dual Drive's with the BBSHD motor. I am mostly interested in the sturmy archer but will consider other manufacturers. I am concerned that this Dual Drive will not be able to take the torque and survive even though I am going to try to turn it down – or castrate the power as much as possible.
The only time I intend to use electric power is when and if my oxygen gives out (both oxygen tanks give out) or my heart starts to give me trouble– otherwise I intend to pedal and get my exercise, so yes I do need the gears .
