Rich C's point, I think, is that you're going to need a lead coming from the controller to plug that display into. Not all do....
Then, if it does have that lead, there's a need for the controller to be able to communicate with the display. That's another big hurdle. Some, like the KT displays, will only talk to a KT controller....
Bottom line, unless I'm mistaken, you're going to need to know who made your controller, and whether it has a lead for a display... That knowledge in hand, THEN you can go display shopping, carefully.
My point is that a few companies have a proprietary protocol language between the display and the controller. That prevents owners from going to a generic display instead of buying parts from the eBike company. In most cases, you can buy a controller and display as a matched set and still be cheaper than the eBike company. But the caveat as always, is matching connectors to the existing wire loom, or be savvy in soldering new connectors.
