Without any reference it's hard to tell exactly what you're looking at. But all hitch racks tend to be a bit springy and sway-ey. A hitch rack has an insert cinch feature to tighten it up so it doesn't flop around. A 2" receiver has a lot more rigidity. Curt is about hitch racks, so the assumption is that's what you're looking at. I would stick with them for a hitch but not a rack. YMMV
On popular review I bought a Rocky Mounts MonoRack2, and it's just outstanding. Yeah, a little more money, but the function and features are every bit as good as the Kuat racks and they're rather the industry premium offering, and at a LOT higher price point.
Etrailer.com sells all of these brands, including a few others. Kuat and Rocky Mounts are highly recommended, and I have personally utilized both and both are excellent. One of the outdoor gear sites have reviewed them all, worth looking into.
We were towing a Colorado 4x4 with the Winnebago, and it was rather too heavy, so we got a lightweight car for a 'toad'. Here's the rack setup on it, we haul two eMtb's with their packs removed. The MonoRack2 is rated for two 65lb bikes, and there's an optional extender for additional bikes. Some of the racks are only rated for 40lb bikes, which rather precludes ebike weights.
These type of racks utilize the tire clamp so they never touch the frame of the bike. But don't work if your bike has fenders.
