Hi,
I am trying to compare gear ratios of a Nexus 8 vs a Specialized Como 4.0.
However, I can't even get to the comparison because I am confused about the stated gear ratios of the Nexus 8.
Normally, a higher gear would have a lower ratio, ie, 10th gear is 0.22 vs 1st gear is .75, correct?
So why does the Nexus seem to be the reverse, the higher gear has the higher ratio, ie 7th gear is 1.4 and 1st gear is 0.5?
And how would a Nexus with the ratio range below compare to a Como 4.0?
1st = 0.527
7th = 1.419
8th = 1.00
And what's up with 8th dropping back to 1.00???
What I am trying to get to is how would this Nexus 8 perform on a hill vs Como 4.0?
And aside from gear ratios, torque on Nexus 8 motor (500 W Dapu mid drive) is 95 nm vs Como 72 nm, although some have suggested that Nexus is limited to accepting 50 nm of torque, regardless of motor torque.
I'm so confused....help please?
