Clearance - Safety Flag

I'm trying to be proactive and avoid getting wacked again by a truck mirror or worse and this looks like a potential solution, but have not seen any reviews or comments on practicality of these.

Has anyone experience with clearance-safety flags (other than the vertical ones on recumbent bikes?

I've seen the adverts for the M-Wave and have one on order to try it out. Specifically: how easily it to fold in (without stopping) when commuting on narrow paths. I like the LED, not sure about the flag flapping though.

I have had one on my commuting bike since the 80's; I bought it in the U.K. I don't have a photo to share at the moment, but the one I use is all plastic with a reflector in the middle. I had to modify it, because it had the reflectors reversed for use on the left hand side of the road. :D I have it mounted to the top/front of the pannier rack; it is easy enough to reach back and fold it in or out.

When I was in high school (1970s), safety flags were common. I haven’t seen one in years! They seem like a great idea to me!
