Cautionary tale

I decided as soon as I got my bike (Pace 500) to leave it on Level 0 whenever manoeuvring at low speed, around people, etc. Yesterday I was out for a ride, came to a rocky downhill stretch and decided to walk, but stupidly left it in Level 1. As I walked along my leg must have caught the pedal, because the bike suddenly zoomed forward and I ended up on the ground, luckily on top of the bike. No serious damage to either of us.

This is the "old" model so whatever triggers the drive (1/4 turn I believe) can be as simple as knocking into the pedals.

I've no-one to blame but myself but just thought I'd share the tale!

Glad you are ok and more importantly didn’t have any witnesses.
I went down on my Vado early on. Didn’t get out of the clip in pedals at a stop sign. Had people in about 4 cars witness it and stop. Just my pride hurt but got rid of those pedals.
Safe and fun cycling to you.
